Goodtextures is a stock texture site that provides artists from around the globe with a large range of textures. Here you can explore thousands of different images, or just find that perfect little texture for your Photoshop project. All the textures listed on this site are absolutely free to download and can be used for your private and or commercial projects.

History

During the summer of 2006, Simon, then working as a Texture Environment Artist (still is), had the dream of creating a free texture stock site. Nothing new there you might say, as there are already a ton of other free texture sites out there. Simon discovered that a lot of these other sites have either little varied content, or quickly become more focused on selling content. So he decided to build his own personal texture collection, using his long years of experience to gather textures which he thought would be ideal for production use, and thus Goodtextures was born.

The Goodtextures dream does not stop there. When the time is right, we at Goodtextures would like to give you the opportunity of sharing your great work with the rest of the community. You will be given an 'admin' status allowing you to upload your work when you want, as well as having access to a ton of other features. Goodtextures wants to help support and focus on bringing the texture related community together.
